Welcome to the Virtual Reality Rehabilitation Mod website. This is a modification for the game “Half-Life 2: Episode 2”, developed and released by Valve Corporation. The aim of this mod is to provide a set of exercises, based on memory, precision and sense of direction. This mod is used by patients suffering from brain damage, such as memory loss or equilibrium disorder, to help them recover. This mod was initially developed by a French engineering student, David Rei, during a three-months internship, in 2015. It was developed in cooperation with FBMI – CVUT, for the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering CTU and Charles University in Prague. The tutor of this internship was MUDr. Bc. Marie Tichá. The name of the global project behind this internship is Home Balance.
This mod is being tested in the DEPARTMENT OF REHABILITATION MEDICINE OF THE FIRST FACULTY OF MEDICINE OF CHARLES UNIVERSITY AND GENERAL TEACHING HOSPITAL IN PRAGUE.
